Melanie Klein and her contribution to the Psychoanalysis

Hi folks! Well, I’d like to talk about a person, who contributed to improvement on the Psychoanalysis. This person is Melanie Klein. Melanie Reizes (her single name) was born on Vienna on March 30th 1882. She’s got married in 1882 with Arthur Klein, at age of twenty-one. That year, she and her husband lived in Rosenberg, Hungary. The couple had three children, Melitta, Hans and Erich.
She studied History and arts on Vienna University.
Melanie Klein had her first approach on Psychoanalysis in 1913 with Sándor Ferenczi, when she was living in Budapest.
Melanie made great contributions to the theory, especially on the work with children. She was one of the co-founders of object relations theory. Also she thought in a phase before the Oedipus Complex, when the child still has breast-fed for his/her mother. Klein proposed two different states of the psyche, the depressive position and the paranoid-schizoid position. This theory explain the human development.
Melanie Klein’s work was collected in four volumes, "Love, Guilt and Reparation: And Other Works 1921-1945"; "The Psychoanalysis of Children"; "Envy and Gratitude" and "Narrative of a Child Analysis".
Melanie died at age of seventy-eight years in September 22th 1960.

A Great Artist: Jeff Buckley

This time I like to talk about one of my favorite musicians, Jeff Buckley. Jeff was son of Tim Buckley, a seventy's folk rock artist, that he abandoned him at very short age. Jeff rose with his mother and grandmother. Well, Jeff was an extraordinary singer and compositor. His only album before his dead, "Grace" is a masterpiece. “Grace” was released in 1994, period that the music style dominant was Grunge. Because of this, the album didn’t sale much. But there is no reason to think that “Grace" is a poor album. "Grace” takes many different styles, Folk, Grunge, Ballad, Blues and Pop. The album has ten great songs, with wonderful, but melancholic lyrics. For Example, “Last Goodbye” talks about a broken relationship; “Lover you should’ve come over” explains the feelings of a man that he missed his girlfriend. Besides, Jeff had an extraordinary voice. For these reasons, I think he was one of the most influential artists of all time. Many musicians recognized his talent, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant from Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Bono, Chris Cornell, and many others.
It’s sad to know that he died too early. He was swimming on a slack water channel of the Mississippi River, and he disappeared. His body was found six days later. Jeff Buckley was thirty years old.

Welcome!

Hi, my name is Javier, I live in Chile and I’m twenty-five years old. This is my personal blog. Well, I’ll write here about different topics, personal experiences, music, news, and etcetera. I hope you enjoy reading. This time I’d like to talk about the new government led by the president Sebastian Piñera. I think that this period of four years will be not good. Why? Because the tendencies too conservative and neoliberal of the government will cause disagreement on the population. What do you think about this?

Earthquake in Chile! My experience...

Well, there are multiple experiences about the Earthquake. In my case, I had been celebrating my birthday on a party with my friends. At the moment of the earthquake, I was dancing with a girlfriend. Then the floor started to shake and we couldn't walk. Many friends went out the house. I stayed with two friends, close to the entrance. We have a swimming pool, and the water started to come out. The three minutes and a half that lasted the earthquake were awful. One of the friends next to me cried, worried about his mother and brother. They live in a building on the sixth floor. The electricity went out and cell phones didn’t work. My cell phone has a radio, and I started to hear Cooperativa radio station. The newscaster said: The earthquake has an intensity of 8,8 on Richter scale. Wow!

(This is a photo of that night, before the earthquake)
