Time to do the homework of English…
Ok, this time I must to talk about the mapuche conflict. I recognize that i don't read too much about the conflict, but i will make an effort to explain some facts about this problem.
One fact that we don't have to forget, this is a historic conflict. It begins in 1990, but so many years ago, Spanish people cheated mapuche people, and they dispose their land. Maybe this is the origin of the problem. In 1990, a group of mapuche communities claims for a restitution of his lands and rights. The rights that they were talking about coming from "Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People". It affirms the right of self-recognition as Indigenous People.
Few Months ago, Mapuche prisoners accused to commit crimes against the private property, starting a Hunger Strike, claiming his right to be judge non for a terrorist crime in a Military process (with an enormous punishment), but a Penal Crime in a Penal process. Finally, after ninety days of strike, the government accepts their demands. They will be judge for a Civilian court. Although their won this fight, the conflict isn’t over. It just the beginning. There are a lot of work to do for the rights of the indigenous people. In South, the police force commit many abuses against mapuche people. They’re violating Human Right, practicing physical and psychological torture. Even so, nobody do anything with these facts. Maybe one day these crimes will be judge.
Hi Javier,
ReplyDeleteNever say "MUST TO" and " I have to admit I have´t read much about the conflict"
What do you mean by, "dispose the land?"
"In 1990,they claimed"?
This is a run on sentence, have a look. I commented on this last semester.
"Few Months ago, Mapuche prisoners accused to commit crimes against the private property, starting a Hunger Strike, claiming his right to be judge non for a terrorist crime in a Military process (with an enormous punishment), but a Penal Crime in a Penal process"
Can you rewrite it?
Finally, "they will be JUDGED" and "there IS a lot of work.. "
