Memories from my Childhood

When our life makes complicated, always we remember early years, when we were kids. In our childhood we live without problems, without preoccupations. It's true that we can't use our freedom, because we depend from our parents, but definitely life was easier than now. I kept good memories from my childhood. When I was kid, my life was so simple. My parents were good to me. I grew up in a little home in Ñuñoa, in a little building of 4 floors. My home was in the first floor. In the neighborhood I made many friends. Always we reunited outside of the buildings and we played soccer and played some pranks.

A good memory from these years was when I was 11 years old. Me and my friend we're truly a gang. One day, we thought in a new Joke to make to the people of neighborhood. When a person walked close the buildings, one of us, ask to that person: What time is it? The innocent answered the question. Afterwards, altogether, watched our wristwatch hided until that moment (each one had one) and we said: Oh let's see! It was so funny! The victim always laughed and we too. Ha Ha Ha. We're just a group of clowns.

Another day, we played with girls "policemen against thieves". The game consisted in a group of us were the policemen and another the thieves. The policemen pursuit the thieves, and whenever a thief was caught, the rest of them must to liberate him. We used the buildings to hide us. The game was enjoyable. When the night was warm, we played at night.

Well, many memories come to my head, when I remembered my childhood. It was a good time. I missed that years, but I don't regret of my life. I learned many lesions from muy life, and one of them is "Always we must to look forward, without forget our story. Many new adventures have to come.

Santiago for tourists

This time I’ll talk about my city, Santiago. Santiago is a big city, the biggest of Chile. It has a lot a people living in his territory. If you are a tourist, there is no doubt, that you find a lot of entertainment in the metropolis. There are many places to visit, museums, parks, hills, pubs, restaurants and discotheques. But, What places do you have to choose? The decision isn’t easy. It depends of what things do you like to do. For that reason I made a list with five places that you should visit. If I put me in your place, one of the places that I should visit is Downtown. Why? Because It has many historic places, with nice and old constructions. It has too, many museums, with different topics. But If you want to go to Downtown, you should go with a Chilean friend, because sometimes it’s a bit dangerous. There are thieves waiting for tourists. Another place to visit is San Cristobal Hill. Sundays is a great day to go. San Cristobal Hill is a beautiful place to jogging or bike riding. In Summer there’s a public pool, a there is the Zoo. In third place we have Bellavista neighborhood. It is a bohemian neighborhood with a lot of pubs and discoteques . In Fourth place, we have Lastarria neighborhood with many places to drink a delicious cup of coffe. There are a theater to view interesting performances and a cinema to watch great movies. In Last place if you want to go to shopping, we have many malls, to buy souvenirs, like Parque Arauco or Apumanque. Well whatever you choose to visit, it will be a good decision.

The Mapuche Conflict

Time to do the homework of English…

Ok, this time I must to talk about the mapuche conflict. I recognize that i don't read too much about the conflict, but i will make an effort to explain some facts about this problem.

One fact that we don't have to forget, this is a historic conflict. It begins in 1990, but so many years ago, Spanish people cheated mapuche people, and they dispose their land. Maybe this is the origin of the problem. In 1990, a group of mapuche communities claims for a restitution of his lands and rights. The rights that they were talking about coming from "Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People". It affirms the right of self-recognition as Indigenous People.

Few Months ago, Mapuche prisoners accused to commit crimes against the private property, starting a Hunger Strike, claiming his right to be judge non for a terrorist crime in a Military process (with an enormous punishment), but a Penal Crime in a Penal process. Finally, after ninety days of strike, the government accepts their demands. They will be judge for a Civilian court. Although their won this fight, the conflict isn’t over. It just the beginning. There are a lot of work to do for the rights of the indigenous people. In South, the police force commit many abuses against mapuche people. They’re violating Human Right, practicing physical and psychological torture. Even so, nobody do anything with these facts. Maybe one day these crimes will be judge.
